The Cave of the Wind-Sobrado is the largest volcanic tube in Europe and the 5th in the world. It has more than 17 kilometers and inside there are many underground passages. It was originated by castings of Pico Viejo, volcanic cone located next to the Teide.

A volcanic tunnel is a cavity that forms inside lava flows. While the lava flows and when it comes into contact with the air, the surface of the cast solidifies, creating an insulator and continuing the flow of the lava inside it until it empties, thus forming the volcanic tube.

The tour begins at the visitor center, from where a vehicle will transport the group to a place near the entrance, continue on foot through an area of medium-sized crops, pine forest and an old royal road.

The visitor center and the interior of the tunnel are provided with bilingual panels that offer, along with the explanations of an expert guide, more complete information about the cave, the lava formations and the fauna that inhabits it.

This visit of medium difficulty lasts two hours from the starting point. Inside the cave will be approximately 45 minutes where you will visit 250 meters of development of it.
